Intermediate Contempo Classical Ballet with Katie Malia.

Class begins at the barre then moves to center and across the floor… all set to contemporary music. Quiet the perfectionist voice and move from the heart while connecting to your breath. Contempo Classical is a classically technical ballet class working from the inside, out.

KATIE MALIA

Katie has been a professional dancer in NY & LA and began training in Vaganova at the age of 5. She taught ballet at Ryan Heffington’s studio, The Sweat Spot, in Silverlake for over a decade and has choreographed for the Museum of Contemporary Art, Geffen Contemporary, and Marciano Art Foundation as well as artists like John Cale, Julianna Barwick (feat. Jonsi from Sigur Ros) and clients such as Puma, Toyota, and Target. She is the co-creator of the comedy Instagram @modelsdoingbalelt and loves helping students fall in love with the technique and craft again by shedding the fear and PTSD of ballet.
