With Jazz as its base, Maria’s class combines many different
styles of dance. Each class starts with a warm-up designed to build
strength and flexibility; followed by a dance combination.
Other benefits of the class: Freedom of body tension, increased
coordination, rhythm, overall body confidence, imagination and expressiveness.
Maria strives to make dance accessible to dancers and non-dancers
alike. She teaches each student at his or her own ability and is
interested in what ‘you’ would like to achieve. Maria

Maria Del Bagno – Named and featured as one of Los Angeles’
top choreographers by the Jazz Dance LA Foundation. Maria has taught
for over 12 years at studios such as Moro Landis / Millennium Dance
Studio, Dance Arts Academy, FocusFish Performance Fitness Center
and Studio A Dance to name a few. She also founded and taught a
very successful dance program for the Beverly Hills Playhouse for
four years. She then went on to start her current company DanceCreate;
a unique company that brings together all elements of theatre: dance,
acting, singing and live music. Her shows DanceCreate and DanceCreate
II performed exclusively to sold out houses.
Maria’s dance training is extensive having studied with Michael
Owens, Michael Rooney, Doug Caldwell, Claude Thompson, Patrice McCoy,
Fred Walton, Joe Tremaine and the father of modern jazz dance, Luigi.
She has worked with and assisted Master Teacher/Choreographer’s,
Jaime Rogers, Joe Tremaine and Fred Walton. Her trained disciplines,
include ballet, modern, lyrical and classical jazz, theater dance,
salsa and swing.
Maria has choreographed for music videos, commercials, films, theatre,
variety shows, children’s shows, Community outreach programs
and has also taught many celebrities.
Some of Maria’s credits as a performer include recurring roles
on General Hospital, Days of Our Lives and most recently, Everybody
Hates Chris. As well as, ‘Follies’ as young Vanessa
under Gene Nelson’s direction and Sheila in ‘A Chorus
Line’.
Maria also co-created with Richard Lawson and choreographed ‘From
the Heart of Love’, an original musical based on a book of
poetry that is currently being reworked for a revival.
